Different Cases to Consider for Your iPad 2

Now that you have the iPad 2 the only thing left are the accessories, with a case being at or near the top of the list. Because of the iPad 2 has a smaller body than the first iPad it is important to find a case that is designed specifically for the iPad 2. Rubberized, leather, etc. cases come in a range of colors and designs. There are literally thousands of cases out there, with more on the way. Below are a few of the main categories of cases for the iPad 2.

Let’s first look at the most common cases for iPad 2 users. This would undoubtedly be leather and/or rubberized cases. With the title of most common case comes plenty to choose from. Leather cases are available in a variety of colors and rubberized iPad 2 cases are no different. Both cases will cover the entire iPad 2 (except for the screen of course).

If you prefer a super thin alternative check out iPad 2 skins. Along with being a few millimeters thick, iPad 2 skins are incredibly customizable. There are a handful of manufacturers (SkinIt, etc.) which will create a one of a kind skin based on your exact specifications. While skin style cases do an amazing job of keeping your iPad 2 as slim as possible, they do not provide much protection. At most skins protect from scratches and scrapes.

Want a case that proves to be a little more useful? Look no further than a case stand. Now you can always have a stand for watching videos or surfing the web. Case Stands allow you to comfortably view your iPad 2 regardless of whether you are using it vertically or horizontally. Often the stand doubles as a protective cover for the screen when you’re not using your device.

This concluding style of iPad 2 case is also incredibly functional. Meet the keyboard case. The touch screen style keyboard isn’t for everyone. So if you are one of the many people who would rather have a standard keyboard this is for you. My biggest complaint about keyboard cases in general is the lack of design options (most are black or brown). Aside from this complaint, keyboard cases are some of the top cases out there.

As with all Apple products there is no shortage of cases available. Most iPad 2 cases are a mix of the categories above. I hope this quick overview has shed a little more light onto iPad 2 cases. Now that you have an idea of what’s out there all that is left to do is check out some product reviews and videos.

I put together an iPad 2 case resource to make skimming through cases easy. If you’d prefer an iPad 2 skin, check out this review of the best iPad 2 skins(along with some of the worst ones too).
